Josef Firmage Miyasato the author of the chapbook, "The Portable Manimal Fiction," and the collection, "The Anti-Hero & The Disciple." He grew up in Boise, ID and has a B.A. in English Creative Writing from Boise State University. His writing has appeared in The Doctor T.J. Eckleburg Review, Prick of the Spindle, Cold Drill, and Anemone Sidecar among others. His awards include the President's Writing Award, The Spark Award, and an Olive Woolley Burt Award. He has also been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He is currently at work on a novel.
Miyasato's writing explores the human condition in the tradition of Dostoevsky, Flannery O'Connor, Denis Johnson, Herman Hesse, and Holy Scripture.
